With dreams come fears. In other words, you might be passionate about something, dream about it night and day, but when the time comes to take action, to fulfill your dreams, you shake like a leaf.

When that happens, do you know what it makes you?

Not a coward, but a human.

Everyone gets afraid, everyone feels terrified when they are about to start a business.

But just so you know it’s quite natural to feel this way. After all, starting a business is a big deal. There’s a lot at stake, and even the bravest can shake in their shoes.

However, what you must not do is chicken out.

You don’t have to give up even before starting.

Fear is a part, but you don’t have to act on it. Instead, you don’t have to let it hinder you.

Wondering how? Well, there’s nothing a changed mindset cannot fix.

A mindset is a stepping stone. It can change your life for the better if you develop the right mindset.

If you are launching your virtual assistant business, here are three mindset shifts that can help.

3 mindset shifts if launching your virtual assistant business terrifies you!

Progress Not Perfection

All our lives, we have tried to be perfect only to be disappointed in the end.

Wonder why that happens? Not because we are unskilled or incapable, but because there’s no such thing as perfection.

(As they say, perfection is a myth)

Ergo, you have to change your perception and stop chasing perfection.

You have to remember that you are human, and you are going to make mistakes. There would be days when you’d be unproductive, lethargic, not meet your targets. But it’s okay.

Trust me, not even the best professionals out there are perfect.

They struggle with work, they don’t meet daily goals.

However, what they do is make sure that their imperfection doesn’t define them. In other words, they do not let their imperfections bug them to death.

They struggle one day, pause, take it easy, and then start again without being overwhelmed with their paranoia.

What you should concentrate on is progress. If you think you are improving, growing better, then congratulations – that’s an accomplishment worth commending.

It should be what you focus on – Progress, not perfection.

Your success is incomparable to other people’s

Comparing yourself to others is a good thing as long as it motivates you to become better.

However, if it begins to make you insecure about yourself and your achievements, then you have to stop.

You have to understand that we cannot run at the same pace in a marathon, after all. In plain words, everybody has a different pace.

People can be more successful than you, but that’s okay.

In fact, truth be told, it’s all a chain, it’s all a hierarchy. The people you compare yourself to, compare themselves to those who are better than them.

There are always going to be people who are more successful than you, and those who are more successful than them. What you should focus on instead is you, and your growth.

Ask yourself, have you become better?

Have you grown? If the answer is yes, then sit back, and pat yourself on the back!

You Don’t Have To Do Everything Alone!

You might start your virtual assistance business all by yourself, but don’t consider yourself alone.

Don’t think that you have to do everything all by yourself.

Yes, you might have to in the beginning, but as you go on, and grow along the way, you can hire people to help you in your business endeavour.

In fact, all the big names out there in the world have achieved great success because of both their employees and customers.

En passant, even if you are starting out, feel free to take help.

Don’t you think for a second that asking for help would only make you weak and incapable. That’s not how it works.

You are not a superhuman, you would need help, everyone does. Thus, swallow your pride, and ask for help if you need it.

The thing is, change begins with the mindset.

Thus, if you are just starting out as a VA and entrepreneur, don’t fall back on the mindset that only limits you.

Jot it down in your books, an empowering mindset should set you free and give you courage.

How has a change of mindset helped you in your journey?
